Practice has confirmed, that most often from level to level (acquisition of belts of the next category), student passes through the system one year – one level, to the level of “master candidate”.  Then, the condition for passing a master’s exam takes place in two to three years, with the assessment that the candidate has reached maturity in technical and mental aspect, and that he has human qualities to honor and account for “master status”. This would mean that the journey from beginner to “master” lasts seven to eight years of permanent practice. The levels of competence of the members of the club are valued and verified by the student qualifications from the fifth kyu (yellow belt) to the second kyu (blue belt), then the category of the master candidate – the first kyu (brown band). The following levels are in the category of master’s titles – dan.

When the “master candidate” reaches technical and mental maturity, passing all the technical levels from year to year, he takes a “master” exam in three parts.

Technical part, where it is necessary to perform technically perfectly, on the practice partners, 36 groups of forms, each containing from 10 to 15 individual techniques.

This qualifies for the second part of the exam – the Tameshiwari test, demonstration devastation and power of blows, breaking by left and right hand, 4 tiles held by assistants and 10 tiles on a “bridge” support.
Finished second exam, qualifies candidate for the final exam – free combat against 4 partners appointed by the instructor, using protective equipment.

All fights, the candidate should finish with the at least draw result or victory.

At that point, he acquires the status and title of “Master”, verified by valid diploma. One takes the path of “Mastery” which requires high moral norms and criteria of behavior and action in all aspects of life and martial arts practice becomes a way of life.
